The Location: 3200, 525 8^th Avenue SW Calgary, AB

The Goal: Full renovation of the 32^nd floor of Eight Avenue Place for CBRE’s new Calgary office.

The Space: The project area is approximately 12,147 square feet which is more than half of the 32^nd floor of EAP. This space consists of high-end custom details such as custom felt beam ceiling feature, custom millwork, and custom flooring. Included in the project are a new reception desk, kitchen, server room, locker room, open workstations, boardrooms, offices, meeting rooms with demountable office fronts.

Project Complications: The biggest complication in this job is the equipment and material lead times not meeting the project schedule. The project team had to come up with temporary solutions and materials to meet the client’s move in date. This resulted to working after hours and work around the client’s schedule to deliver the project as planned.

The Team:  The team consists of a Local Design (Shearer) firm, Smith and Andersen, HIDI Group and CBRE. The team is available and capable of making decisions quickly to keep the project on track.

The Project: The project was awarded as a construction management agreement between Soundtex and CBRE. We then tendered the project to our pre-approved subtrades on CBRE’s behalf in accordance with our agreed financial proposal. The construction started on May 2021 with a successful completion of August 2021.

Project Completion: Final sign off and commissioning of the original project scope were completed August 13, 2021.

Certification: CBRE’s Calgary office was the first North American office to receive the WELL v2 Platinum Certification from the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI).
